He chose Napoli over Juventus and AC Milan which was big surprise at that time. First year they finished 8th, second year 3rd, third year 1st. And also won UEFA cup. Napoli only had 2 trophy prior to Maradonas arrival. Maradona built Napoli.

Best footballer ever.. To have played at the time in Seria A against some of the best and ruthless defenders that football has ever seen is unbelievable. Breaking someone's leg was only a yellow card at the time and Maradona was the most kicked, punched and high tackled footballer in the history of football. You are a legend Maradona!

Serie A was probably at that time the toughest league in the world in the late 80's. What Maradona did with the Napoli team winning the league twice was no fluke and UEFA Cup beating the heavyweights of the North. His heroics in 86,90 world cup and Napoli team is considered by many as the greatest player of all time. Now im a messi fan i admit but what he did in that space amount of time - ronaldo and messi will never do.
