People just fail to understand that this was another level of quality. You can't explain the importance of Ronaldo as a striker. He was just deadly. I am so glad I have been alive to see him and feel his impact. Reminds me of the Ronaldinho impact as well, you just can't explain it and visualize it today.

The hype before the '98 world cup was crazy around him. Something I have never seen since. When someone says Ronaldo, he is the one that I think of.

As a german, who was 12 when the 2002 final between germany and brazil happend, where Ronaldo shot both goals, i have to give all my respects to Ronaldo. After the 1998 final, everyone thought he was done for and would never catch on to his old self again. But he proved all his critics wrong and went on to win the big one. (I know he was in the WC team of 94, but that really dosen't count) Much props Ronaldo. :)

Ronaldo broke my heart twice, when he left for spain and when he returned to the wrong side of milan, but I will always love the player. Ronaldo is my all time favourite striker, in style, speed, power and technical qualities. The closest player in the modern day is Luis Muriel, but he lacks the composure, dedication and confidence to reach the upper level.
