You do realize that football now is way less physical than it used to be and defenders are punished for making tackles that were once part of the game - football now is about goals and entertainment, goalless draws don’t draw in the viewers right. Ronaldo in his prime or not, would have struggled to score like he scores now. Trezeguet, Ronaldo de Lima, Van Basten, Vieri, Batistuta....all incredible strikers but forget about them scoring more than 25 league goals in their prime in Série A back in the days of being the toughest league around.

@Artan L I don't know what to say, if you simple Google or Wikipedia their goal involvement in 2017/18 season Ronaldo does not have 55 goals and Messi ranks top for goal involvement, assists etc. Admittedly Messi doesn't have the best knockout record for Argentina, but he scored a hat trick when they needed it most - in the decisive qualifying game whereas Di Maria, Higuain were nowhere. To say that they've done more when Messi smashed the group stage in 2014 is a joke + plus he often drops deep to be a creator in such games e.g. 2 assists vs France
