i dont know why but most african japanese have japanese family name even though most of the time fathers are african , like Naomi osaka , rui hachimura , leo brian kokubo , joel chima fujita, musashi suzuki, Henry Heroki Mochizuki etc.

Maybe they are divorced or maybe it was easier for him growing up in Japan to have a Japanese last name? In other countries it's not like the middle east where you HAVE to take the name of your father you know...
