Whoever watched this game will know,this game was won in midfield...Tonali was a beast,pure class, combination of Gattuso and Pirlo really stood out. Outstanding performance from the whole team.

For me the game was won in the area between the left back and the left winger. Interesting stat - 76 percent of the match was played in the area just in front of the Napoli left back. By all accounts, it was a ludicrous display.

Whenever he plays against Milan, he doesn't play well because of the defense. Osimhen isn't the issue. The defense was reshaped from 3 at the back to their normal 4 and he can never go pass kjaer easily. Although osimhen is a beast but whenever he meet milan, even Kalulu that's young has always pocketed him

There's a psychological boost that comes with looking at your opponents and not seeing their danger man. It becomes, "We've got this!" for one team and "We can pull through it" for the other, even before the first whistle is blown. I'm sure Osimhen not being in the lineup had some psychological effect. That's not counting his scrappy, defensive contribution and on field encouragement of his teammates. I hope he plays next time and brings that balance Napoli needs.

@@amezuyifred6449 Osimhen is one of the most highly defensive attackers in modern day football. He covers ground that would take two players to cover with his high pressing and pace. Milan wouldn't have been able to play calmly at the back. Most importantly, why do you think Napoli dominated previous games? Opponents expend so many resources on Osimhen. He's the main target to take out. They crowd him with two or more players, leaving themselves at the disadvantage of giving too much space to other players. When you expend resources like that, you seem to play with 9 men. Osimhen's absence clearly allowed Milan to play with full strength. You'll see what I'm talking about when he features in their champions league duel.

@@amezuyifred6449 And to correct you... Osimhen defends!! For example, he has cleared more opposing corner kicks than several defenders. Also, he doesn't just wait for the ball to be fed to him; he hustles.

The moment I saw Milan Team ,I knew they were going to win. The players that played today were undoubtedly key to Milan's last season Serie A success. Not much injury concern.

No, Napoli did not play seriously because they will play in Champions League next week and they don't want to reveal their real tactics to ACM. They treat this game like a friendly. I think this result is just to make ACM overconfident psychologically because the league is already confirmed. The real Napoli will beat them in the Champions League QF

Not discounting the efforts of other players, but it "seems" it's all crumbling down without Osimhen. Hopefully, he comes back soon and Napoli can continue their fantastic run and story.

The absence of Victor Osihmen was obvious in today's match. Osimhen is like a leader & a morale booster and a motivator to the team. It shows impact Victor Osimhen has on the team mates. His absence , created a big gap, lack of self-confidence, in the team. I hope he gets better soon and joins the team soon
