Born and raised in Naples, Ferrara made his debut with the first team in 1984, the same year Diego Maradona joined the Partenopei from Barcelona. The two shared 7 glorious years together, bringing Napoli to incredible highs before Ferrara was sold to Juventus to help his boyhood team weather the financial storm that was threatening to bankrupt the club | Serie A 2023/24
