Who would have thought Chris Smalling would be someone's hardest challenge😂. What an improvement he has seen. Let's go Hojlund to United.

Smalling was one of the best defensive CB's in Europe when he was at United. I can't remember what video it was, but I remember saying he was a better defender than VVD (back when VVD was getting all credits and on the Ballon D'or top 3 nominations). He's incredibly fast, aggressive, one of the most aerially dominant and reads the game very well. Issue with him was always that he was also one of the worst technical players in the league. United also went trophy-less and him and Jones were scapegoated a lot at United. He statistically hasn't improved at all, but now isn't under the immense pressure and abuse of being a United player.

Wow most of these kids are all inspired by CR7. Halaand, Mbappe, Vinicius, Rodrigo, Garnacho, Saka, Rashford, Mount.. the list is endless.. And now Højlund too! CR7 must be proud whenever he watch these kinds of interviews or meet them in person. Actually they are even more prouder than him for having been inspired by such a GOAT athletic. Sidenote: This kid has a deep voice, and seems to have a mature personality.

y cause there are not many types of players where they play the style of Messi cause remember he maybe short but he is a fast dribller but he can't be a ST cause of that while Ronaldo has everything so he can go from a winger when he was young to be a ST at 30/35+

Smalling was to bad technically for LVG, he wanted to build from the back. Smalling had "treelegs" and the tempo is higher than all the leagues which can make the players look even worse
